I need to know why it is that not many rex's have these on them...I saw it on a rare occasion on one and i want it...any ideas what the price on them is and where to find one? are they universal?

Those look like louvers not a spoiler from your pic..
If your talking about the louvers I think theres a few members here that have them...I'm sure they'll chime in when they see this..

There was some on ebay a little while ago. You prob don't see them much because they aren't that attractive

The attractiveness factor is subjective, I for one like them... why? because they remind me of the 70's.... when I was a kid and loved hotwheels and mad max movies and muscle cars with window louvre's.

Im looking for a clean set myself... its the last exterior piece I want.

Ive heard some folk say it impacts mpg, but ive talked to someone that had a set and they say you can't notice them at all. And if you look at the profile of the crx, aerodynamically the louvre's are out of the zone of influence.

I have it for my first gen. I used it originally since I didn't have window tints and dislike the out visibility of my cargo. Once I put on tints though I took it off since I found my car looked better without it. In any case, If I was trying to lower the heat and sunlight in my car, they'd work great.

some ugly pictures of my rex

a better picture without it:

it might be that ugly mugen ripoff that made it look bad... Its next to my car in the garage so maybe i'll try it on again.

As far as i know Majestic Honda, roughly 130ish brand new. I havent checked in awhile but they had them a few months ago.
And I love louvers, i'd bring them back so quick if i had the extra money to scoop two sets up.

They were an option that not everyone wanted.

No, ones for an '85 Camaro will not fit your Crx.

Pretty certain that they are model and year specific.
Meaning that ones for an 88-91 will not fit 84-87.

Send them a message and have them send you a picture. You should hopefully get service for that cost. They might be better than the OEM ones if they aren't so big and as long as they're not held together by something similar to window sealant... >.>;;; thats how my OEM one was held together..

So is the 2nd gen crx hatch and a mazda the same thing? hahaha... online stores -.-

Because, back when these cars were new, tint for windows wasn't invented/marketed yet.
How old are you?? I had a car tinted at a tint shop back in '89 :rolleyes1:
I think my dad tried to tint his car years before 1986 then too... so the material was available... haha.. i also know it was a disaster... i guess i got my mom's genes in that case ^.^;

Personally I think it looks freaking awesome on first-gens. Something about the boxier proportions. The one made for the 88-91's is just too bulky. It screws up the lines of the rear.
I agree they look much better on the first gen... but they look even better on older American muscle. I would say I like louvers, but the car has to be right... and the 2nd gen is not right for louvers, imo.

All crx's come with slighty tinted glass..... so if it wasn't invented... how did they deliver new crx's? In Japan they could PICK between normal tint and bronzed!
I'm talking about the film tint, and that's why I said invented/marketed. I don't know when film tint became mainstream, but it wasn't before louvers.

Bunch of fuckin' high and mighty pricks.
