My younger brother just bought a 1991 Honda Civic CX is good condition. And while thisis still a step up from the crappy dodge colt he did have (that his friend stole and trashed..), he still should have bought a CRX like his older brother!

Just curious if anyone has any information at all on this car. Horsepower numbers, engine codes, etc. I did a google search and after 20 minutes I couldn't find much at all.

As well, I'm probably putting a new engine in my car next summer. I wouldn't think it'd be too difficult to put my D16A6 in his civic. The only complication however, would be that the civic is (groan) automatic....

Regardless, I'm still happy he got a honda and not another dodge.....

You're sure it's a CX? I didn't think they made a CX in '91... maybe in '92. To my knowledge, '88-91 Civic based models (including the CRX) were limited to base (STD), HF, LX, DX, EX, Si and whatever the AWD wagon's trim level was.

Yeah, very sure it's a 91, and very sure it's a CX. It's almost like looking at a much uglier version of my car...

Anyhow, and stickershop, this is directed at you because you ALWAYS have an answer, any information on it or know anything about it? If the 91 CX was only available in Canada, and not in the US, that explains why I couldn't find any decent information on it...

At least it doesn't look like it's in bad shape!

It's not my area of expertise...as I've never owned a Civic HB before. But from what I understand, the CX is the base model in Canada. It supposedly has even fewer features than the DX in Canada. Mechanically, I think it's pretty similar to a DX though. No passenger's side mirror or rear wiper are a couple of things that the CX is usually missing. I'm not really sure what else is different about them.

I stand ejumakatd.
From stickershop's description and the pics, it looks alot like the USDM base model. If they turn out to be the same model, it should have a D15B1 - The DX/LX's D15B2 but with a lower redline and a close-coupled cat.
