Heh, Yesterday was exciting...

I went to my grandmas to take apart the parts car and hopefully drop the motor. I get all the drivers side suspension loose except for the ball joint, and the crossmember rods. Well I needed a 17mm deepwell, and I broke the only ratchet I had on the ball joint (yes I took the pin out :p)...and Im thinking the whole time, man I cant wait to get my 89 fixed.

So I figured I go ahead and run to town and get 17mm deepwell, crobar, and another good rachet. And my grandma wanted some pizza so I left.

Now the road she lives on is this skinny, curvy back road. And at the begining of the road at the top of a hill is a kinda up hill "S" curve. When i came through earlier it was nothing but of a sheet of ice and had to go slow. I pull out behind a dodge neon and Im following it out. Well we get to the "s" curve and it goes up fine, I get up half way and start to fishtail. My first thought is, try not to hit anything. And then I realize Im heading for the part of the cliff where there is NO gaurdrail....and Im doing a 180 trying to get the car under control. But the front keeps going down the hill and Im heading drives side first to go over the cliff. Its a sheer drop off into someguys yard where he has old cars parked below.
At this point Im trying my best to make the car hit the guardrail. Heh I slide the front drivers side tire first right into the end of it. And bounce off... Im fine. I wasnt even doing 15mph when the whole thing started.
I try to get out of the drivers side and cant door wont open more than 2in. I climb out the passenger side and almost bust my ass on the ice. A guy in an explorer comes up and asks if Im alright I said yeah Im good...I walk in front of the car and look at the guard rail. Theres a track of/in the dirt starting on the outside of rail and leading around the front to where my car is in the road.

My poor rex is beyond repair, it busted the strut and since Ive owned the car, its always pulled to the right just a bit. Now it doesnt pull either way.
Its as bad as Krix's h22 rex. I had to take a hammer to get the fender off the tire so I could get it back to my grandmas. Then, to get home I drove it 30miles back home. If you hit a bump to hard, the upper, im gonna call it a wishbone thing, hits the frame rail. Its now parked at my appartment.

When I bought it, the guys friend had ran it into a guardrail. Then, while Im in charlett, NC. It gets backed into the drivers side after putting a 90hf front end on it. Now Ive ran the sucker into a guardrail.......Its is just not meant to be or has someone stuck a y-49 bolt in that corner?

So in january Im getting a 2nd job and Im getting me another crx. Im pissed off now.....and yesterday was my 23rd birthday.

yay..... :(

Yesterday was** fine once I got home, I stayed there lol. Im just glad I didnt go over that cliff or it would have been much worse. Ill take that anyday.

A situation like that convinced me to buy winter tires. Now I'll never go in the winter without them.

Look on the bright side, you'll have two parts cars and a fresh start!
^^^...LOL yeah I know I now have more parts than I know what to do with. I think I have all season tires, they came with the 90-91 si rims from the parts car.

Thanks for link Krix, Belive me I want that, but I wont have even that much till at least Jan. Theres also celeastal(sp?) blue HF on there as well that I REALLY want.

After the cliff its at least a 20 foot drop.... :? The guy has some old chevy luminas and a shed down below.
And yeah I live in the Apps. Right in the middle of Big walker and East River mountains.

Next year Im getting me a cavalier for winter.....Ive taken them through 2foot snow.

Wow Glad you are all right man. . . .winter time brings all this fun stuff upon us. .. . . . The rex is replaceable. . . just glad you came out ok. .

i always fear this time of year. . . . I know I am a good driver. . . But this stuff just seems to happen to every one when we least expect it. . . .At least you were able to keep it under some control and keep things from getting really bad.. . .

good luck to you . ..

that's scary, glad you didn't launch yourself over the edge of the hill. all this talk of slip sliding around is freakin' me out with my car. Plus I almost had a jetta pull right in front of me out of a line of cars yesterday. I was going 40 mph. That wouldn't of been good. :!:

I don't know if winter tires would have prevented the accident from happening.
Ice is ice. If they were studded, now we're talkin!

Well, now you can start over fresh and have LOTS of extra parts! :D
