Its 2006! Almost 2007, if your still on dialup and your regularly browse the boards, you have other issues, and can wait the few minutes to click on a link on a pics of my ride post, or a build thread or what not. If you don't want to and the pics start to load hit the back button.

So, that being said, please can people please refrain from writing anything 56k related in your title. Not only does it make this section look like ass, but it prevents high rankings based on thread title (56k in title is proven to decrease worth in search rankings) I've personally had cable internet for the past 5 years and wouldn't have it any other way. Had I not had the money to have cable internet I wouldn't be on the internet I would be finding ways to afford it. It's just a suggestion, but this is quickly becoming a pet peeve of mine.

does not really matter to me. . . . .I think the focus of the site is more to be helpful than to have high rankings however if having 56k in the title decreases rankings. . . . hten you just decreased the ranking of this post with you title. . .

ive had cable for 4 years and dsl before that, but I know there are some cheapskate holdouts on dialup still. :lol:

Meh. Sad but true, there ARE plenty of people still on dialup (the Internet isn't super important to everyone), and there are still areas where it's your only choice. It doesn't even REALLY act as a warning anymore, it just says "there are a LOT of pics in this thread". There are also people browsing the web through a lot of other things: cell phones, handhelds, BlackBerry...they might be less likely to want to view a pic-heavy thread since they're going to look at them on a tiny screen. Sites that depend on advertising revenue depend on high search ratings...this site is about community.

im on here constantly on my cell card or through my BB...its nice ot know that i may have to wait...but i aslo could just close the page,

when im actually ON my bb, I only use the PM feature because regualr browsing is a pain in the nuts.

Be glad you guys have internet at home, they killed off my wiredog wireless at the appartments, so Ive been waiting for Va.net to send me my DSL modem. But I can only get 1.5mbps Wytheville is monopilized by Embark...
