There was never an EG Coupe Si. Every EG Si was a hatch.

At some point in the 90's though, Honda of Canada changed their trim levels, so the US Ex = Canadian Si, and US Si = Canadian SiR. It's possible that what you saw was a Canadian Si, or just some kid trying to hype up his Civic.
More then likely a canadian Si. Our EXs have always been 4 doors. Making it simple, we kept the names of the 4th gen thruout our years (Si is always top model, even if the Si is an EX) and for the Si, we got the SiR. That's why I say I have SIR rims, and not Si rims.

Nope more than likely a bought Si badge on a Ex or something. You can buy them everywhere now.
Or it simply could have been a Canadian Civic "Si" that made it's way over the border.

I know you can still purchase the 6th gen OEM Canadian "SI" badge from dealerships in Canada.
