Does anyone know if the black seat cover material that Honda covered the outer seat panels with can be bought by the yard ? Are there any seat cover fabric shops that carry these types of material for Japanese car restoration projects? help

I doubt it. I don't know for sure on the black, but I tried to get some of the factory blue fabric for my seats back in 2001, and it was not available.

Your best bet is to check out the material samples that an upholstery shop has on hand, I was able to get very close, but it didn't match perfectly. Your other option is to go custom and/or replace all the fabric on both seats, which I did just last year.

Someone on the resource posted the color code a while back... no clue what it is now though. The black cloth is a #8 or #9 courduroy

Thanks for the info about the seat cover material being a type of corduroy.I'll see if I can find an upholstery grade of this fabric, hopefully in nylon or poly/nylon.
