your cv boot is probably torn and the cv joint is whats making the sound. put a new axle in and you will be good.

A new axle will fix your problem.
No big deal, pretty common thing to happen.
axle joint bad. . . . .
look for torn or blown off boot and grease all over the place. . .
local auto parts will have them for ya. . . usually run abou 5o to 90 with your old one a s a trade for a reman axle shaft. . . .get the whole thing. . . . less hassle and you get both the iner and outer joints replaced at the same time. . . and less grease all over ya. .
