Tires are 205/40 16 (OEM spec overall diameter)
wheels are 16x7 et 40. Im gonna try 5mm spacers for a better look.

Yeah, they should have been 45's.
Spacers suck...BTW. They often cause vibrations, but unusal stress on the hubs, bearings and studs.
Don't do it. They look fine how they are now. In fact. I think you should have them shimmed down to 45.

The closest size to stock for 16's is actually 215/40-16. 205/40's are closer than 205/45's though.

Overall Diameter:
185/60-14 = 22.74 inches
215/40-16 = 22.77 +.03
205/40-16 = 22.46 -.28
205/45-16 = 23.26 +.52

As for the spacers, I don't think 5mm would hurt. I understand how larger spacers would suck, but 5mm can't be that much extra stress on the hubs.

Use a Porter cable or Makita polisher, with G10 liquid Farecla polish (not found in stores), once the paint is clean, then put a layer of wax on it, to protect the paint and bring out the gloss. keep it looking good with meguirs quick detail spray.I do this 1-2 times a year.

I don't think I would even bother with it for 2 tenths of an inch...it can't make enough of a difference to be worth the cost, work, and chance of them causing problems.
