A while back, but thought I'd share this:
When I was stationed in Japan, a friend of mine wanted to take me out for a traditional Japanese dinner. I took the train to her house and she was going to drive from there. Her car was in the shop and she explained that we would have to take her brother's car that was parked out back. The problem was, she couldn't drive a manual in a Kimono and asked if I could drive. "Sure".
We walk out back and there's a Skyline GTR sitting there. It wasn't just a Skyline, but it turned out that her brother worked for Nissan Racing and the car was his project. Totally built up. I don't know enough about Japanese cars to know exactly what he was running and I actually didn't know enough about the Skyline at the time to fully appreciate it. (On base, military guys would buy and sell older skylines for a couple of thousand)
I will say that it was a blast to drive. I only got it up to about 240 kph because it's hard to find open space to fly and I wanted to respect that it wasn't my car. I can't say that I've ever driven a better sports car.
