To get my driver-side spindle nut off, it took a 32mm socket on a 3/4" ratchet. I jumped on it with all my weight (a little less than 200 lbs.) The wrench was about 18" long, so that's what..? about 300 foot-pounds. That's what it takes.

P.S. As far as I can remember, that nut had been on there about ten years.

Use a long tube (if you have a floor jack, the handle workswonderfully for this :) ), slide it over the end of the ratchet handle, and use that..... it'll take more than you think to break loose sometimes. I just got reminded this weekend why i love my air tools... lol. Swaps with no power tools at all are a little bit more of a pain in the booty

I have an expensive air gun and last time I changed an axle I didn't even push the tab back out... stick the 32 mil socket on, grab the gun, BAM! nut comes off. Simple as pie.

Air tools are cool, but all you need is a length of pipe to slip over the handle of your wrench.
