Yea, really. He does a pretty good job on his own
Just be glad none of you have a camera on you all the time. I know that I for one do lots of stupid crap during the day that I am glad nobody sees.
On that note, I laughed really hard at that video. Very creative.

If I had a camera on me all the time, I'd actually be more inclined to do less stupid things, one of which being sending my sons to die against the advice of top war strategists and the will of most of the American people.

Bush, though deemed an idiot, has the Devil's tongue I think. As much as you feel with all the fibers of your existence that he's just full of it, when you hear the guy talk, man can he make things sound so justifiably good.

Listening to a presidential conference once on the radio I had to turn it away because had I not, I'd've quit my job and joined the armed forces that day. :D

I'm talking about doing things like pushing on a door that says "pull". Or tripping on your own two feet.
No question about his ability to convince with words. The best politicians can. Look at Bill Clinton. I don't like the guy but man can he sweet talk you.

Ok and this is where I hate people without a good memory........a few years ago abd two third of the American public was willing to go to war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Even thew majority of the Democrats thought that Ira had WMD's. Suddam purposely made it look like they had WMD's by not letting UN inspectors in to certain areas and then after a couple of weeks of he would let them look around and many UN inspectors said it looked like they had just go done cleaning the place and moving stuff around. Although the UN never was truely willing to go to Iraq most Americans were......

Now that in retrospect we can see they didn't have WMD's everyone blames the President for stuff that they bleived too. And the media downplays some of the stuff they found.......Almost no one in America (or probably other countries either) know about the fact that we found a lot of barrels of mustard gas. I dont remember how much but it was there. And He was using SCUD missles.......the ones the UN told him to disarm and destroy in the 90's.

I'm a republican and yes Bush looks like he's not the smartest guy in the world but I can't stand when people even dumber than he is try to jump on the bandwagon and say that the war in Iraq is wrong. Suddam killed thousands of his own people. I heard on a news station the other day that the number of dead women and children is actually down since the begining of the war. All the dirtbags in Iraq that used to rape women and kill children are now fighting the US military.....But because the majority of news stations in America are owned by democrats (thats a fact not an opinion) they are less inclined to show some good coming from the war. (the second part of that sentence might be a little more opinion than fact)

Well since you've turned this into a political war thread I'll give you my opinion. Any business the US had in Iraq is over. There is nothing left to be gained in staying there, all we're doing now amounts to trying to referee a civil war.

We're hemorrhaging money and lives in a fruitless battle against guerilla tactics, the US military cannot "win" in these conditions. We stand out while the enemy is nowhere and simultaneously everywhere, but they won't fight directly. What else can we do except drive around on patrols waiting to die? The sooner we as a country realize it's best to cut our losses the better it is for everyone. The only one in the way of that decision now, is Mr. Bush.

I'm sorry, I don't believe accurate representation puts two thirds willing to go to war by most polls regarding it, but I could be wrong.

The intelligence community knew and personally told Bush there were no WMD's in Iraq. There was discussion and a release of information on the CIAs part to our commander in cheif regarding this - yet still the administration did its best to link Al Queda & Afghanistan to Iraq, and play up WMDs that have not been found in substantial quantity. NATO wasn't even willing to go to Iraq, much less the UN.

I didn't believe it then, and I don't blame the president for pulling an effective propaganda campaign off to convince the American public of blantantly false information.

How many is a lot?

I really don't consider one shell with some Sarin in it, or some shells that may well have been buried since before 2000 and were stored inproperly that contained inert mustard gas constitute WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION OMG! OH NOES!!1!

Furthermore,

The Danish team has found only 36 mortar rounds buried in desert about 45 miles from Al Amarah, a southern town. But it added that up to a 100 more could still be hidden at the location. The rounds were in plastic bags and some were leaking. It seems they had been buried for at least 10 years.
There's far more mustard gas leaking in Kentucky in a warehouse with no where to go than was discovered in Iraq a year after the war "ended."

Spell his name right first off. Second, yes he did kill thousands of people, guess what? Hitler modelled his genocide of the Jews off of our treatment of the native Americans, and the British's treatment of the Bohr people in South Africa. Relevancy? We, as a nation, had far more blood on our hands 150 years ago than Saddam could sport a stiffy over.

How about that incident where he gassed his own people?

Start looking around and you'll find unreliable sources, look a little deeper and you'll find there are reliable sources to back these:

Link from Democratic Underground providing a link to the NY times (sign up unfortunately) regarding Iran also gassing those people:

The times article quoted in full, not linked to by another questionable source: http://www.sovereignty.org.uk/siteinfo/ ... iraq2.html

Where'd you hear that? That's not only inaccurate. It's pure nonsense.
The holocaust had a dynamic progression. The "ultimate solution" as the nazi's called it, consisted mainly of "removing" the harmful elements out of the new German sociological culture.
Jews, homosexuals, gypsies, all other religions except christianity, and so on.
They simply wanted to deport them. (Madagaskar was one of the options, as was Australia and Israel/Iran) But when the German empire kept on growing, there was nowhere for them to go, and after the war started, nor were there resources left to do so.
Plus, they simply wouldn't leave.
Work able "subjects" were sent to work camps. Where they made munitions, and assembled small parts, and broke rocks for asphalt and concrete, etc.
Non-useful "subjects" were sent to termination camps to be gassed and incinerated.

I somehow fail to see the comparison.

Also I don't see how this is in any way relevant to the clip I posted. Must every thing here be turned into nitpicking, and unfounded spewing of opinions?

I mean, I don't mind a good discussion. But some people just need to shut the hell up, if all they can do is bloat out nonsense. Not pointing fingers. You should figure it out by yourself. (If the shoe fits..etc etc)

WHOAHHH horsie!!!

You assume too much based on a single sentence. At a time when nobody knew for sure whether or not there were indeed WOMD's, it was more of a reason to be over there as compared to now. What real reason do we have now? ...and NOW is what I'm talking about. No bandwagon here man.

What I think it boils down to is the big macho always gotta be right male ego. He was wrong so instead of maning up, he's finding things to be right about at the expense of other people's son's and daughter's lives. (It's sort of an expression so don't ask me to itemize rights and wrongs for you)

Hey, how do you know how smart or rather dumb (by your choice of words) I or anyone is anyway?

Mein Kampf, written by Adolph himself. Documents from Joseph Goebbels, and letters to the U.S. while attempting to establish an alliance during WWII. The comparison lies in the fact that he admired how the problem of native Americans was taken care of by the early American government. He then went ahead using slavery (forced labor camps), ghettos (reservations) and extermination to follow out that general goal.

So you're calling me one to bloat nonsense? I'm sorry, I felt the need to reply to comments on America and its current president. I'm a firm believer in civic responsibility, and as such, tend to nit-pick or argue when it comes down to things like inaccurate political statements. Being a political science major might just do that to you.

The reichstag burned, and burns again.
JustAnotherRex said:

I was actually referring to others...

Mein Kampf isn't really an accurate depiction. More so the ramblings of how he would have liked to see it. I can see how him being inspired by the historical examples could lead you to the interpretation that he followed that lead.

It was more so a natural progression. Hitler himself didn't have full influence. However much he wanted to.
Saddam being dead is a good thing for the world. Period. I don't care if there were WMDs or not, he was evil. He killed hundreds of thousands of people, constantly ignored the UN (can you blame him-what a bunch of wussies!), and was a loose cannon.
Now, we cannot just pull out of Iraq. The unfortunate reality is that we have to help them establish some kind of government and peace there. It just has to happen. Takes time too. Not like our own country pulled together overnight either. In this constant, gotta have it now society, we seem to lack patience in certain issues.

What really makes me go :?: is that all these people are whining that we should do something about Darfur. The same celebrities complain about Bush and then want us to go to Darfur and do something. Typical double standard of Hollywood liberals.

Anyway, Seti is right, why the heck does everything go political around here. I voted for Bush but I still can laugh at stuff like that. Because it is FUNNY! Lighten up people.
