awhile back, I found a belt similar to the alternator belt for the 90 LS, only it was just a little bit shorter. does anybody happen to know what it might have been for? I can't remember for the life of me, and everyone at the parts stores thinks I'm crazy. thing is, my alternator rubs on the side of my engine bay because the frame rail wasn't pounded out far enough when the swap was done, so now I need a slightly shorter belt to hold the alternator in a little closer. any help would be greatly appreciated!

If your parts store has ANY knowledgeable people they SHOULD look up the belt for a stock b18 and then look at the suffix for the part # and go the next size down.
I dont know if your parts places rate their belts like ours here do,but the suffix on the part# is the belts length in "mm".
(i.e. a part # F56Z-12HG-340) the "340" would be the belts length in mm.
Understand?

I understand ollie, but I've learned not to question the stupidity of some parts guys. either that, or they don't have them organized so logically.

What'd the A6 come in so I know what to ask for? (probably a stupid question  )
