I just got a new amp from my parents as a late birthday gift. It's bigger than the one I have, which is mounted in the cargo box next to the battery. I don't know where to put it. I would attach it to the sub box, but it will also be powering two speakers in the factory locations. I was thinking of getting the rear cargo cover and door thing (I don't have any now) and attaching it to the door, as I've seen done before. Is this a secure place to mount it? Also, how do you attach it to the thin material, and will it damage it at all (aside from screws or whatever)?

How big of an amp are we talking about here?

If you could find one, the amp is small enough,not that heavy and don't care about drilling into the OEM cargo divider, i would mount it to that. Granted, it is not very anti theft.
When mounting it to the cargo divider, i would put a small piece of wood behind the divider (maybe some sort of small wood slat), use a little longer screws and mount it that way. That way the screws have more to "bite" onto. I hope the way i explained it makes sense....amp/divider/wood. The divider leans back when it is shut and as long as it is latched is should sit there fine.

Or if you could find the cargo divider AND cargo cover, you could clean up the trunk area and mount it somewhere in the rear trunk area next to your sub. It would be hidden by the cargo covers so it would not be seen fro mthe outside.

You could take a sheet of fiber board, and bond that to the cargo divider.
Simply screw in that, instead of the divider itself.

Well... I got impatient since I didn't have the cargo pieces on hand, so I checked the fit (last time I just measured) and with a little more cutting I got it to fit snugly in the same spot. Got everything hooked up, but now I need a couple of RCA splitters... should be all set tomorrow.
