I'm going to finally primer my car tomm.
But I have a question?
The front bumper and rear bumper are not metal, there made out of some strong plastic or something. The bumpers have a coat of paint over it. My question is do I sand down the plastic? I did a little bit of it but it just got scratched up. Or is there some sort of paint striper that takes the paint off the bumpers. Any information is useful.

Sand down the bumpers just like any other part of the car. Dont go too far though because they are not metal and you might cause deep scratches in the plastic. The best bet is to sand it untill its nicely roughed up, primer it and then sand again. Make sure there are no high or low spots and no more rough spots.

It's also a good idea to spray the bumper with an adhesion promoter primer that will help the paint flex with the bumper. That way it is much less likely to crack or crumble the paint if something smacks into the bumper. Especially useful if you are sanding / striping the bumper of all the old paint.
