Is anyone here from the Dulles VA/ D.C. area? I just accepted a job at Orbital Sciences in Dulles, working as an associate subcontracts administrator, so I'll be moving down there at the end of this week. My brother already lives down there (already works at Orbital, too, but as a test engineer in a completely different building) so I'll be staying with him for a couple of weeks in Sterling. Anyone in the area, give me a shout!

I live in Fredericksburg, VA. about 50 miles south of Dulles. I worked up at Dulles airport for the last 8 years until last January when the airline I worked for went out of business . Jason (jaowli on here) lives in Woodbridge, VA. about 30 miles south of Dulles. He is the Prez of the local CRX club. We are looking to have a meet here soon. Here's a link to join our club. http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Clu ... _DC_Metro/ feel free to PM me or jaowli. If nothing eles maybe just the three of us can get together.

That's correct from what Leonard (lumpy53e) stated above. I started a CRX car club in Northern VA/DC Metro back in May 2004 when I moved here from Ft. Hood, Texas. I just returned from Iraq this past January 2006 after spending a lot of time out there. I was inactive from my club from Sept. 2004 to Jan. 2006. Now, I am trying to get things back in order to get a meet sometime in April 2006. In the meantime, if you want to talk or something, e-mail me at: [email protected]. Name is Jason. Here is the link to the CRX car club:

Are you in Fort Belvoir? I think that's the Army post near there... Actually the only one in VA I can think of besides Fort Lee, but that's well south of Richmond.
No, I live in Woodbridge (five miles south of Ft. Belvior). I am no longer in the Army. I work down at MCB Quantico.

im in manassas

there are numerous army postings around here, besides the pentagon, belvoir, myers, there are a ton of admin offices and groups that work on top secret/classified stuff inside defense contractors locations. between military and civilian agencies it largely makes the DC metro area recession proof, cause the govt can always borrow more money.

yeah i go by noyan every few months, theyre only a few miles from me. they have a pretty large selection of motors and will do a compression test right there for you. its like a 6000sq ft building thats pretty well packed, lot of nissan stuff. there are a few other importers around here as well. my personal fave japanstar moved to new jersey a while ago, right after i spent alot of time working on the hookup..ah well.

Japanesestarmotor.com is the place that moved on me.

i dont know that id call Noyan nice..its a dim warehouse stuffed with motors and clips and other stuff, its good to go thru and cherrypick now and again. as with all places some people talk trash about noyans, but hey..youre buying used motors..so occasionally **** goes wrong. id still recommend them. take time to check out the motor and make sure none of the sensors are broken. you can walk in and look at all the stuff so its up to you.

theres a place i recently visited had some nice motors in herndon, i cant remember its name though, but they dont have that big a stock to choose from.

theres another place in jessup maryland called ateela usa, but last time i was there they were talking about moving. they had the nicest clips there, its also where i got my rhd crx clip.

Don't go to Noyan if you want a ZC motor. There web site says in stock but I have been calling them for almost 4 months and they never have any and don't know when or if they will be getting any.

sweet. it's good to see there are a few of you around. I can't even say that here in Johnstown. the sad thing is, I've been seriously considering getting rid of the rex. it's in such bad shape mechanically and cosmetically. maybe when I'm making some decent money I can just buy the SiR I've been dreaming of!

God I hate moving! being that I'm a single guy living by himself, I shouldn't have that much crap to move, but it took me all last week to sort through all my junk and pack up everything I wanted to keep. on friday, my dad and my uncle came down from Butler, PA, with a u-haul trailer behind his blazer, and somehow we got everything to fit. 90% of it went straight into storage down here in Sterling, and I just brough my computer and most of my clothes to my brother's place where I'll be staying for probably the first month at least, until I can get a place of my own.

well, tomorrow will be my first day of work, so wish me luck!

You are in a "target rich" environment.
Playboy came out with a study that showed that the D.C. area had a 7 to 1 female to male ratio.
The office workers that the government hires are mostly woman.
Course that was in the '80's, but I don't think much has changed.

I'm a bit far to help ya out on the pub scene, good luck on your job
