hey guys,

I'm Simmy and im new! I live in Perth Western Australia and i drive a 1992 Del Sol. CRXs have become an obsession! I've only had it a couple months and i love it.
Bought it stock and i'm slowly (but surely) gonna make it my own. so far only put rimmies and pioneer splits in as there are plenty of repairs and other stuff to get done first.
I'm part of a CRX Club here in Perth, but wanted to join this forum to check out whats happening over in the U.S, what kinda stuff is available and how popular CRX's are over there. Also just to chat CRX. when i get some piks together, i'll post up.

Your shirts and stickers look sweet as by the way... would be mad to have a del sol one. seems theyre not common over there? they're quite rare here as it is.

Anyways.. thought i'd properly introduce myself.. :)

Um.. del sols aren't really considered crxes by the rest of the world. But welcome, we may draw you to the dark side.

So with "the rest of the world" You mean, just the USA, right?
Uh...isn't that all that matters? :p

That being said Bas, it seems to me from the various international CRX sites that they seperate the 3rd gens quite a bit or am I stoned?

Canada would be part of the rest of the world too in this context.

Other Del Sol members in hiding speak out!

Welcome BTW from down under. Is Jon Ston still around with that beautiful dark blue Cyber CRX? Australia is just a little island right? So you must know him...

Yes. The Del sol is still the bastard child amongst CRXes
Someone once said: "A Del sol is not a CRX. It is, in fact, not even a car. Unless referred to as "donor-car".

Just kidding. They're sweet little girlie mobiles.
I recently took pictures of one for a local magazine. You might like them.

Honda intended from the start to have the Del Sol be the 3rd Gen CRX. Sooooo.... just because you (in your own personal opinion) do not like the Del Sol, or think that it is substandard to the 1st/2nd Gen CRX, does not mean that it is not a 3rd gen CRX.

Personally, i like the Del Sol, and i'll stand up for them as a 3rd Gen CRX (even though that may mean a public hanging around here... haha!). I used to have one, and would love to own another one. They are great cars, and a a BLAST to drive and own... and if you've never driven or owned one, you probably won't understand what i'm meaning by that.

Don't worry - ComposiMo hit the nail on the head with a sledge hammer :)

I've had this argument with some people on Honda-Tech before, posted pics of real JDM CRX SiR Delsols and they still wouldn't believe. ahh well... :p

main thing is - you love your car and thats all that matters!

Are there not many female car enthusiasts over there?
its pretty big here. Perth has a couple of fairly large all female car clubs varying in jap performance to aussie muscle cars.

so which city is crxcommunity based?

I have definitely seen a lot of females driving rexes, but I guess they're not the type to modify their cars or talk about them online. Very few women I've ever known saw their cars as more than transportation, but the ones that do are absolutely zealous about them.

The founder of this site resides in Atlanta, but it was never intended to be a local forum. It's open to anyone in the world, as long as they speak english. :D The majority of us are in the eastern US, and the great country of Canada takes 2nd place.
