We have our first autocross of the season on Saturday at RPI. I'm getting pretty excited, this will be my first with the new suspension and tires, should do pretty well without having to beat the crap out of the CRX. I'll have some pictures and stuff hopefully saturday night. Anybody local... drop me a PM and come over to check it out.

Yeah man, you missed a good day. I helped design the course, it was pretty technical. I came in 4th in the top class, but my car was 1st! An alum who's also a rexer came by, with no car, so I let him [over]drive my car, and he got first. Feels good to actually have a nice suspension and tires, and to have my car beat all the expensive BMWs and stuff that showed up. Time to do the post-race partying.. after a little nap.

I would have placed with one of my raw times, but I hit two cones in the stop box :? It was nice to have the other guy drive my car though, he's been driving his with a similar setup for a long time. I rode with him for 2 runs, and it really helped me out a lot. We only got 4 timed runs today, usually it's 9 or so, and I had passengers all day. I'm aiming to do a lot better next time, I can't blame it on the car, it will be a long time before I reach the limits of this setup.

I have, from pavement to wheel:
Falken Azenis RT-215 195/60-R15 on HX wheels, 35psi front, 40psi rear
Ground Control Coilovers (250f/350R I believe), car at 4.5 inches
Tokico Illumina Shocks, 3 front, 5 rear

The wheel and rack are stock, but I do have a smaller Momo 300mm wheel I need to get a hub for. I really want to get it in, I'm getting a good workout with the Si wheel being so large. Also, with the Falkens, if you have the opportunity to leave between runs, go heat them up in another parking lot. They're good for about a minute hot, then they feel really greasy. This was perfect today, the best times were just under a minute, I ran a little faster in my car and a fun run, but the tires were heating up a lot more in the last few turns.

I have some pictures! Compare the body roll to my avatar, or the pics in my gallery. This one is my favourite:

Sorry, no good pics of squishing cones, not that I didn't hit any, but luckily nobody caught me doing it. There are more pics to come, these are from a friend of mine, but someone took 3 gigs of pics and video, which I am hosting for the club on my fileserver. I'm pretty sure there's one of my passenger door grazing 4 or 5 cones in a row, and not knocking them over.
