The igniter on my B18a is pretty much done for.

So I went to a pick-n-pull junkyard today and found 2 suitable cars with identical distributors, and started disassembling one. It took me about 1 minute to get the cap off, then another min to get the ignition pack off. Then I find the igniter tucked away way down bottom, and find the mounting screws are pretty much INSIDE the distributor!! How the hell am I supposed to get the damn thing out??? I gave up after I saw that the entire thing was put together with security style torx screws!

Gahhhh, I need a damn new igniter but how the hell am i supposed to access it??

On the other hand I found a mint looking Civic dash and 90-91 guage cluster. When the weather warms up, i am def going back to snag those two things!

I would, but my problem is, i can't even get the damn thing out! How do i get that friggin thing out????

I was gonna pick up a couple older ones for free to see if they changed anything, and if it made a difference then maybe i'd buy a new one, get my point?

I'm a retard.

I didnt see those two screws when i disassembled the distributor i was working on. I guess those are what remove it.

D-OH!

I'm going back tomorrow and picking up a couple of igniters and maybe a coil pack.

Got two Igniters today, first one i tried worked good.

Car runs alot smoother now and revs to 7.2k without any erratic RPM issues.
I would imagine that it wont stall anymore after extended driving too.

I got the Igniter out of a 91 Civic with a 1.5l. Its the newer style igniter with "NEC" printed on it. I also got another "NEC" style igniter but havent tested it yet.

Now i jst need to swap them pistons and rings and i'm set
