I beleive my thermostat is stuck open. Here is what happens.
I start the car, it will take 15-20 minutes before it gets warm at idle. Then I give it 3-4 shots of gas too 4000rpm, and it's right back down again. My fan is always on (recent issue since the B18 swap) and it's always cooling down the fluid. I get no heat inside of car. Like it gets 'warm' enough to drive, but I've never shut off my fan since winter started because I was too hot. It also never gets warm when I drive. When it does reach the gauge, it goes up to 1/4. When I go fast or rev, it cools right back down. The engine is never hot enough to not touch it, regardless of how long I've been driving.
I'm 99.9% sure it's the thermostat, but I've never had one fail on me so I want confirmation. I don't know if both hoses get hot at once, -15C cold start ups are not something I like to stand next too feeling hoses. I'm afraid of what all the cold driving will do internally to the engine. I don't want it hurting it for no reason. Just wanting confirmation. Thanks.
