[bandit] my project car...

i bought this car over a year ago - was in a bit of a poor condition after a small accident and neglected for over a year.

this is what it looked like when i got her...

this what it looks like today...

fitted a newer 'undamaged' bulkhead, welded up the panels and got some replacement bumpers, door pods etc...

i have some race plans for her starting with a debut on the drag strip next week (3rd Jan) and race days next month - should be fun!

yeah - all gen1s are JDM imports here - all RHD.

Nice 1g its hard to find one here that isn't rusted to poop. Did they come stock with the dual cam there?

this one is like a special edition Ballade Sports which came with a D16A3 (browntop ZC), bumpers and side skirts - has all the features of a JDM Si but carries a 'ballade sports' badge.

im taking her to the drags next week to see its performance in stock form - i suspect mid to high 15s will be on the cards and then we'll see from there.

Im working on the RacingHart wheels now - they are red and will be black when im finished with them

Nice, Ive never really been into 1st gens either, but I like seening the DOHC under the hood and the hump in the hood.
That and I just learned something about them....kewl deal man.

alrighty then - another update...

i washed and scrubbed, degreased the wheels yesterday:

none other than original Racing Harts

today they were painted in Matt Black, clear coated, polished and are now like this... and waiting to get on the car!

im going to lower the car within the next 2 weeks, fit a front and rear brace and get the rails on the race seat modified to fit... then in feb its off to the races
