Well the dirt track crx got to take a test run yesterday... cracked head from some bum off of ebay... lots of $$$ down the drain My mom was nice and loaned me the money to get a engine.... found a guy that i knew from the net who had an extra DOHC ZC at his shop for cheap... So we are off to pittsburgh to pick it up in about an hour... Im excited... never had a JDM engine before.... I yanked the old 1.5 mini me out last night...
cant wait to get the zc running.... first day of racing is this sat so i am on a tight deadline here to get it all done

Remember that you have to change those two wires at the distributor for a dohc zc. Hope your ecu lets you rev high enough to get the full power out of it. I don't know what kind of exhaust you are using but I hope you get the full zc exhaust with it because the zc manifold is still at the "2" of 4-2-1 when you don't have the (dual) pipe that goes down and under the engine from the manifold. The american models are all at the "1" of 4-1 style at the exhaust manifold ending.

Oh man...I feel your pain! Some dude sold me a D16A6 a couple of years ago which he said was in tip-top shape. Long story short, the timing belt had obviously broken, and he replaced the timing belt to cover it up. Everything looked fine. It turned over ok manually...but when i got it fired up, it was quite obvious that there were bent valves. Total waste of money and ALL THAT TIME AND EFFORT!

Yeah I knew about the 2 wires for the cam antgle sensor... I also got the 4 2 1 exhaust header with it... . my ecu is a chipped pr4 that redlines at 8000 Rpm's so i should be good there... all we run for exhaust is the manifold and a downpipe....

I made it back last night with the new motor.... the guy i bought it off was pretty cool. he has a Si with a jdm front end that he is putting a k series into he has an h22 accord, a couple integras and 2 civic hatchrs. . .there was an Lv VTEC being finished up on the engine stand...

Nice place. . . I didnt want to leave. .

but yeah the engine is complete.. with the exception of the injectors.... he took them out to have them cleaned and misplaced them... also the tps is broke but he geve me a replacment.. . .

Well i am off to go slam it in. . .

Sounds like you are good to go. Remember that zc's don't normally fit under the hood with an american hood. The zc's had the hood with the raised section to clear the timing belt cover, so don't forget to check that. The usual trick of the trade is to put washers between the engine mount to lower it a little bit. Zc's don't really have that good of throttle response below 4k so hold her wide open all the time :twisted:

i dunno about 2g's, but i know that it fits fine in a usdm 1g without the bulge. in fact, on the jdm/edm zc hoods, there's a support beam going right through the bulge, thus meaning that it is not necessary at all, as the beam is right smack above the timing belt cover.

2g's have the clearence issue, mine was sitting so high my spark plug wires were rubbing on the hood. Every car is a bit different but for the most part I think they sit a pinch too high on most.

Well its in there... started on it today at noon and had it in at 4 fired it up at 5... sounds REALLY healthy... . as for the hood... i just cut out the under support to get an extra pinch... i think i will be fine... yeah i got the 4-2-1 exhaust too... got the dizzy plug and cps wired and i am good to go on the thing.... my friend frpaired my radiator today and i just picked it up....

anyone know what hose i have to use with the zc sonce the water neck is back farther??? i found a site that showed it just have to find it agian. . .
