i have noticed numerous articles and letters stating that if you are going to build a boosted engine to blueprint the lower end, and to preferably to use forged h-beam connecting rods. now in looking at the honda service manual, to properly fit the rod or main bearings there are letter, number and color codes used to take you to a grid chart to pick out the proper size bearing. my question is, do these after market con rods have these codes stamped into them to use the chart, and if not how do you start to fit the bearings because there are about 16 diffrent size bearing shells? i know that bearing clearances are very tight for honda engines and if you cant use the chart, do you buy 2 of each bearing shell and just start trial and error fitting?
