well it should be a good next few months.......I'm getting a new car soon (1991 prelude Si) and possibly a new dirtbike this weekend.......just got a new wakeboard dirt cheap thanks to the fact that its being sold while we have a foot and a half of snow on the ground........and to top it all off.....I'm going snowmobile riding this weekend with my uncle and cousin up in michigan......my rex is gonna make the 200 mile trip up north so if you see a rusty little red first gen going north through ohio.......it's probably me haha

well this thread was probably pointless but oh well.......I'm bored and in an extremely good mood so I thought I'd tell everyone how great stuff is for me  .......now I just need to save up for a new computer and I'm set haha. but to off set this seemingly pointless post........I'll put up a video to make you all happy

That guy had a check engine light. Sorry I had to point it out.

Not a bad vid though, and have fun snowmobiling.

I only hope that the young morons that read these posts and enjoy those kind of videos do not think that there is anything remotely OK with street racing.

It is bad enough to endanger the lives of innocent bystanders, but to video the act and then publish it on the web is the height of stupidity.

This is the kind of activety that gets the non-autmotive enthusiast's panties in a twist (rightfully so) and then they get the cops to bust every lowered import they see.

So the next time you get pulled over for some BS equipment violation or you think you get "profiled" by some patrolman remember that it is sh*t like this video that earns you that extra scrutiny.

Let's race, but not on the street.

I know what you mean about how dangerous street racing is and I agree.......to a certain extent......to me there is a big difference between runnning my car up to 120 on an road where there is no traffic and running it up to even 80 when there is traffic.

I'm not gonna lie when I say that I'm sure I've done my fair share of stupid stuff and a few years from now maybe I'll realize that it's wrong. But for now at least I think that they were in a fairly controlled enviornment in the fact that it looked as though the road was closed from other traffic.......althought they probably shouldn't have raced back towards the group of spectators

so I didnt see any problem with posting the video but if you dont think its apropriate or whatever just tell me and I'll take it off if anyone has a problem with it.

From what I saw, I don't think you could call anyone there an "innocent bystander". It's not like they were racing down Main St. or through a development where clueless people could get caught up in the chaos of a race gone bad. It was a deserted road, with a bunch of people hanging around to watch and/or participate in the races.
Admittedly, parking cars along the strip is a bad idea (as has been seen in past videos) and they didn't have an ambulance handy "just in case", but this was only "street racing" in the sense that they were racing on a publicly owned stretch of pavement. That was hardly the kind of race that deserves being demonized and lumped in with the morons that race through traffic and drag unsuspecting people down with them when they screw up. Everyone present (assuming they weren't blind and deaf) knew that races were going on, and likely that bad things can happen... They were NOT innocent.

I guess you missed the part in the first race were another car was coming toward the two racers (one of which was driving in the opposite lane of traffic).

Look, you guys are so much smarter than me. You know when and were it is "safe" to race on public roads. Maybe you could also cure cancer and create cold fusion.

But if I ever catch you street racing near any member of my family, pray that the cops catch you before I do.

Them guys are the smarter of the dumbasses.

And you know how you can tell when someone doesn't know how to drive? -when they rev their engines up and down split seconds before the launch. That and the 5 seconds between shifts.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I thought it was a real drag strip until I noticed the oncoming car and the civic slipping in front of the CRX. Idiots. How hard is it to find a strip and race for real? I dunno, maybe it's different in Europe or wherever they are. Still, there is no excuse.

And for fear of steering off topic, here is a pic of one of my toys. And no Seti, I'm not dead yet:
