so any body have any idea why it could be running that way

jdm dohc Zc

mods: stage 2 flywheel

Way to go! Racing on public roads! I'm glad I wasn't taking my fiancee to dinner off highway 51 last night. I probably would have had one of you morons drive through my driver's door again, and her have such bad whiplash she wouldn't sleep comfortably for a couple months. And if I wasn't driving my truck, I may not be here walking, or at all... that was quite the fun ordeal!

Take your racing to the track, <explicative>!

As for your engine. It could be a multitude of things. You could have slipped the timing belt, blown the head gasket, blown rings, burned a valve or two.. anything

Racing on public highway/roads is always a great idea! :rolleyes1:
Gotta stop taking that monster of a Zc all the way to 9k. :?

You admittidly beat on your car and now have a problem with it acting sluggish, big surprise. Your motor is tired, rebuild time.

It could be any of those things listed by rex2nr.
rex2ner...... it is in stillwater oklahoma, i am now where close to you.... and becides noone is out there anyways there is like one car in a 10 or 15 minute time spand so this is where every body races at, and its at late night anyways so what it matter.... get off of my case about it. it makes me happy i love to race and stuff.

wouldnt you like to be happy! answer that for me?

and thanks for the help
and for you baker!!!! i dont take my car to 9k i still shift at 7500, and is it not better than racing in town???? that is alot more dangerous!!! atleast i do it hardly where anyone is!

if i took my car to 9k that would be the stupidest thing i could ever do. honda motors are flexible but not NEAR that flexible. i barly take my car to 8k and i rarely do that!! i am not the dumbest person out there

but thanks for the help anyways after you bitch me out for nothing
racing = track...

don't dispute that, because there is no debate about it.

I'm just going to say this because i am tired of your ridiculous, immature, incomprehensible, and inability to use the "edit" button and i feel that some ppl on here share my same sentiment, your an unitelligent, immature, straight up MORON!
It is still a PUBLIC HIGHWAY!
It may be late at night, but all it takes is ONE car in the wrong place at the wrong time for an accident to happen. You won't be soo happy when you find yourself messed up in a wreck, killing yourself or possibly killing someone else, and possibly ruining lives all because you are an IDIOT!

So have fun "being happy" :rolleyes1:

You want to race, keep it on the track, you want to continue being a Fast and Furious Ricer, keep being ridiculously stupid!

Look, i am going to say this in the nicest way that I can think of....

WE DO NOT CONDONE ANY SORT OF STREET RACING ON THIS SITE.

That is a rule. We welcome all members and encourage everyone to join but there are certain things we do not discuss. And this is one of them. I was going to pm you about this but thought that it would serve as a reminder for all members just to post it here.

You may street race untill your heart is content ( or splattered over someones windshield) but please do not discuss it here.

It is not relevant to your problem at all.
I am sorry to have to put this so bluntly. But the behavior just will not be tolerated. PERIOD.

As for your problem with your car. It sounds like you have a tired old Zc that gets pounded on on a daily basis. And I would recommend that you do a rebuild on it with at least new rods and mains, rings and gaskets. .

And before you atart bashing on me for enforcing the rules that are set on this site. remember this. I wrote what I wrote for the good of the site. I do not know you and could honestly care less if you get involved in an accident hurting or killing someone else. I am not going to prevent that no matter what I write. I am just saying that please do not continue to talk about your street racing adventures here.

The CRX Community is NOT about that. It is just the internet, do not take it personal. I am sure that most of out members have at one time. taken on another vehicle on the streets at one point in there life. But it just does not fly here.

If you have any comments or concerns please PM me. . This thread was about what could be wrong with your car. .. not a flame war over street racing and what or what not you were or were not for doing.

Lets keep this on topic. .
Thank you

Chris

I agree. The community is not about street racing.
Most of us have prob been involved in a street race at least once in our lives, which is why we are advising against it.

Boo. We young guys often have more wisdom that some old guys, but then, its the other way around too.

90, it sounds to me like the head gasket is causing you your problems. If your blowing white smoke, you know its out. I'd park the car and swap it as soon as you can, because running on the blown gasket will often lead to overheating, and that will often lead to you warping the head/block, which just means more money when you do swap the gasket.

I don't want you to be happy if you're risking injuring or killing innocent people and families going out to dinner. Point is, racing is dangerous, make it as safe for yourselves and others as possible by keeping it on the track. If everyone is jumping of a bridge out there, are you going to too?

I agree with that, if you don't keep driving it you might be able to avoid resurfacing the head. Is it overheating? How is the condition of the engine, you might want to rebuild the whole thing... sounds pretty bad if you're loosing oil from the headgasket.
the post was not about street racing in the first place i was just telling what i was doing so before any of you guys jump to conclusion about me racing all the time.
stillwater is nothing but street racing. if none of you guys been here it has grown in street racing in the past couple of years so that is all you at late nights on friday and sat. nights on this highway....
I am not disagreeing about how unsafe it is but its somthing that everyone has done so what ever. and baker, if you call me another name again dude i swear you are going to fuckin piss me off to where i cant take it anymore. i didnt do crap to you and still yet you call me all this crap!!! im done with it!!! all i wanted was for people to help me with my car.
ok.....yes i am losing oil from the head gasket
and no i am not over heating, but the car never gets hot untill it loses some of the antifreeze. then when it does it gets to normal operating temp. and works fine for about a week. then when it gets to the point where there is no more coolent left that is when it over heats..

i just rebuilt this motor like a month ago!! i just used the same old thermostat that came with the motor i rebuilt. and i used huge radiator. and bigger hoses i wanted max. cooling for the motor.

i am losing oil pretty bad, my block is covered in oil. i have to put oil in it like every 2 and a half weeks. and that is not to good if i say my self!!!!!

and it runs fine but never heats.. the motor is tight and well built. i can build a motor like no other, but just not to good on the issues of oil leaks and stuff.

so any help please let me know
If you want help, drop your attitude... how many times have people said this?

Who cares if the whole town races? I'm sure most of us will then avoid it if were ever in the area. Anyway, the rule on this site is to not talk about it. We don't condone racing. If you want answers learn to read the rules, stop acting like you know all, and how about YOU bring some respect to the guys that actually know a thing or two about cars.

Also, how many times does a moderator need to tell you to not make threats towards other members? Every post you make, you threaten someone. There are these things called Anger Management Classes... take some! It's the fucking internet for Christ's sake!!!!

You listen as well as my 6 yr old nephew. Go take your ricer ass to another forum if you can't play by the rules here.

-edit- I guess you didn't find the edit button yet? Its right up there at the top right corner of your post. Increasing your post count doesn't help you get any cool title here.

-edit2- Maybe you cracked your head then? Clean the block off and see where the leak is.

i dont have a attitude, its just every body jumps on my damn case and it makes me mad, and yes i know a few things about cars. just like eveybody else.but everyone has to learn from somewhere right!!

and no i didnt find the edit button i totally forgot to look for it i was in a rush i am doing some body work on my car and just trying to keep the rex clean

and ok i wil do that thanks for the help
I'm thinking: :lock:
...then start a new thread describing symtoms.

-Chris
no dont lock it, just dont jump to all the conclusions........ and uhh back to the orignal question please

symtoms:
-oil on the block
-white smoke
-kinda slugish
-seems like it lost power
-loses oil
-high idle when cold or hot

thats all!!
Clean the engine really well, and find out where your oil is leaking from. Here's how I do it.
