Car shuts off when wipers turned on

Some of you know now that my car is back on the road after having some non-starting issues. Well, after replacing the dizzy, ignition switch, underhood fuse box and main relay, it turns out a wire from the underhood fuse box got fried and was not supplying power to the ECU and main relay. Wire was replaced by my dad's friend and his brother but now I've got another problem.

When the car is on and I go to turn on my wipers, my car then shuts off. Is it safe to assume he just rewired the ECU and main relay by splicing into a wire supplying power to my wiper switch and/or wiper relay circuit? If so, what is my solution?

Thanks!

I never heard such a problem.
Whatever he did, he messed something up. The wipers are supposed to be on a completely different circuit.

Ya, that's what I thought after looking at wiring diagrams from the crx manual. Mind you, I'm not much of an electrical kinda guy.

I'm guessing rather than replace the whole fried wire, he decided to just tap into a known power wire and go from there. I do recall him saying something about a blue/white wire under the dash.

I'm guessing I'll be on my back looking up at my harness at lunch time today. Thanks for getting back.
WOW! Get that fixed soon before it causes more problems
can you find the fried wire and run a new one from point A to point B and undo what he did? That is crazy, ive never heard of anything like it? Are you getting any codes?

Man, I hope it doesnt start raining while your driving

Never even entered my mind to check for codes. I'm gonna do that before I leave this morning for work. I told my dad about it and his friend is gonna take my car this Friday and try to fix what his brother fixed. Hopefully it will be done the right way this time. If I had a warm garage to work in, I'd probably try to do it myself.

And ya, I checked the weather forecast for the week and it's gonna be sunny until Friday. Hopefully I won't need my wipers. I'm gonna use some RainX on my windows just in case though.
Sweet kill switch mod!!!

I'd say the best thing to do is get a roll of similar gauge wire to the one that got fried. (Also, do you know why it got fried? so that you can prevent it from happneing again.) Then I'd take a long hard look at the wiring diagramf ro your car and re run the wire along the wiring harness, hook it up at each end, and tape this wire to your existing harness.
