Well im new here i used to always be on h-t and someone told me to come here so heres my problem..after i drive my car and turn the key off somtimes it wants to just stay running but the radio turns off just the gauges and the motor stay on ...do i need a new ignition?

check to se if your cooling fan runs all of the time. . . . if someone wired it direct... when you shut the car off the spinning fan can actually make power and bleed back through the system and keep the car running for a little bit. . . . .i have ran into this alot on early 80's gm cars. . . it was kinda funny you would get out of your car after you turned it off and it would stay running for about a minute after you walked away from it. . .

check that first..

Sounds like your dieseling. There are a few factors that usually cause it. High idle speeds are a big one. Running too lean is another. Bad timing can cause it. What year is your vehicle?

A fuel injected car shouldn't diesel once power to the injectors is cut out.

True, the first gens here in the US (and some second gens elsewhere) are carbed. I was looking at his avatar and thinking his wasn't though. Also the gauges... the tach might work but the temp and fuel etc shouldn't.

It says nowhere about hime having an early crx. . . .if its the one in his avatar then its a 2nd gen. . .. and judging from his prev posts. . .it just got a b18 swap. . . .

I would check out that ignition switch a little better. . ..

and see whats going on there..
