Carnage from BC9. Salvageable??? <56k warn>

Here's pics of the bottom end of my DOHC ZC after my trip to BC9.

As you'll see, I lost the #4 rod bearing.... completely. Not a single fleck of bearing material left @ #4. The damage cooked the rod pretty good too. The rod bearing cap turned all purple from the heat.

With this kind of heat damage, are these rods still useable? (Obviously I'll have to have them touched up at the machine shop if they are serviceable, and I have several spare cranks.)

Anyhow. Pics.

ouch ouch ouch!!!

as far as the rod goes, anything with that much heat on it I would not reuse. I suppose any good machine shop should be able to tell you whether you could get away with it. good luck on the rebuild.

If you have to start changing parts just to get back to stock condition, is it worth it unless you are going to make more mods? The ZC's sell for about 600 right? Any ideas on why this happened?
Sorry about your luck :frown:
