so i woke up the other morning and decided i was gonna work on the crx, which as you all would know if you've read my other thread, i don't have a title for. No title means no insurance, nothing in my name, no proof that the vehicle's even mine. So I go to pull into the garage and decide to take it around the block real quick.I haven't got to drive the car much, but when I do it's hard to stop. So I was cruising through town, didn't really take it any farther then 4 or so blocks away. Sure enough as I'm about 2 blocks away from home a squad car passes me while i'm at a stop sign, I try to turn right as quickly as possibly but I knew I was getting pulled so I was nervous and killed it, I restart the engine and make my right turn. The squad car, who is now behind me, makes a U turn. My heart starting jumping out my chest and I just slammed on the pedal and made a quick left. I took another left about 3 houses down and as I made the turn shifted into 3rd and completely blew a stop sign turning right. As I blew the stop sign I look over my right shoulder and I just saw him gun it as he turned on his lights. Well I tried to see how much that turn would slow him down and I kept on gunnin it myself. So now I'm practically on the street thats behind my backyard and I'm guessing I'm pretty screwed at this point. The officer comes up to my window and I tell him that I don't have a damn thing for this car. No insurance, no title, I didn't even have my license on me. He tells me he's pulling me over for not having a front plate. I just kinda slipped it in during my excuse making that my dad's an officer and then explained that I'm getting the runaround for the title and that I was just working on it and taking it for a cruise to see how it was running blah blah blah. He just wrote down my DOB, the vin and when back to the squad to run the plates and my name and whatever else takes them like 4 hours while you sit there and wait to see how much doo doo your in. Well I keep looking in my mirror and finally I see him get out with only one yellow piece of paper in his hand. HAHAHAHA A FRICKIN WARNING. He comes up to the window and gets my dad's cell and tells me the plates are suspended and I need to take this car home immediately. Without question I knew my dad would be pissed but it beats getting tickets for no insurance, no front plate, expired plates, cracked windshield, no seatbelt, no license, and running a stop sign.

Why not? I don't see any rules being broken here.

You got lucky. Don't do it again.
trust me. I learned my lesson.
its kinda funny actually. i had somthing similiar, though i had tags and insurance. after i did my swap i had to drive my rex home about 15 miles through town.....with no downpipe on my exhaust. it sounded like harley rumbling down the road  i passed a couple cops and had to shut it off and coast by them and crank it back up after i was far enough past them. luckily i didnt get pulled over.

glad you got off with a warning, when i read the post title i thought you almost wrecked or somthing.

You said doo doo.
lol

Savestheday - You are pretty lucky now just remember to put a front plate on when you get everything in order! That would suck to have a nice crx running then you take it out for the first time then you get pulled over again! lol

GL with the crx & your dad.

Actually I was talking about you. And this thread doesn't bother me at all. I appreciate the work cops do, but its annoying when your breaking the law.
I appreciate the work cops do as well, trust me, it feeds me and keeps a roof over my head. I just wanted to drive my crx..... badly.

Crxfisher is 100% correct, and I don't see how I can be classified as a 'few' people. You're one strange kid Devin.

We all appreciate the work they do. No one said they don't.

Plus I know the feeling of wanting to drive your crx. Ive been away from mine for 3 months, and I have 1 more left. Its killing me not to drive it! I miss it
Now goto your room!

Your dad's a cop and your out there doing crap like this?

You ought to be ashamed, YOU, of all people, should know better. Imagine if some bonehead with no insurance crashed into your rex.
Savestheday - Since you're new here, you probably don't know, but Mark is a cop. That's why he has the authority to talk to you like that. ;)

That's fine everyone's entitled to there own opinion. I'm not going to sit here and tell you no I didn't do something stupid, hence the title of the thread. I almost lost my license(again), got my car impounded, and faced a whole mess of fines. Don't worry I heard enough of it from my DAD.

If wanting to discourage lawless punk behaviour talk, especially the boy-racer kind, makes me uptight -- then sign me up for your uptight list.

I wouldn't classify what savestheday21 did as that, however. He did something dumb, realizes it. Nobody's uptight, someone's appropriately feeling lucky and respectful.

Not all of us are as impressionable to the sort of movies, music and videos that glorify lawlessness. But hey, it sells. Dumb kids will keep forking over their allowances and playing gangsta or [insert whatever lifestyle image is hot at the moment] for a while before they decide to craft their own personalities, not try and live out a music video like its a prescription for living. Thankfully, most of them are either too smart or lack the balls to walk the talk. Too many of them have car keys, unfortunately.

For the ones that natural urban selection doesn't weed out, they eventually get real jobs and put cash down on nice things like a nice car or a house and then start appreciating the services that that help keep their property from being damaged and their loved ones from getting hurt.

But, like nasty parents that buy you things and help you out with your first car, it can be such a drag, right?

I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say. I did this because of some gangsta rap video? Highly doubt it. If you knew me (which I know you don't, therefore it can't possibly be taken personally), but I'm not the kind of person who would jump in the car BECAUSE i'm breaking the law, driving without insurance and i'm gonna run from the cops. I know my post may have come off like that and I apologize for anyone who may have thought this was some kind of high speed chase. I was simply trying to avoid being pulled over, he was going one direction so I decided to go the opposite direction in hopes that maybe he would just let it go. I happened to get a little adrenaline pumping and am fairly new to stick shift driving and blew a stop sign. Things happen. On the positive side I should be getting temp plates and insurance sometime this week that way I can run from cops legally.

No, not you ... our other member who feels the rest of us are too law abiding and "uptight."
