Wilson Electronics makes a pretty cool product that will be on my list of future geek additions to the rex. It boosts the Sprint phone and EVDO signal to 3W as well as increases reception. Nice for my mobile laptop.

• No physical connection to your cell phone or cellular data card
• Work on all generations of CDMA, GSM, TDMA, and 3G
• Passes TIA/EIA-98-E transmit tests for evaluating CDMA cellular phones
• Power control logic ensures maximum output power is within cellular standards
• Allows multiple phones and cellular data cards to be used simultaneously
• Maximum 3 watts output power
• Overload protection circuit - protects cell system from overload
• DC power supply included - AC power supply sold separately
• Slim low profile inside antenna included
• Automatic reset - if overload occurs
• Oscillation detection and shutdown with auto reset
• FCC and IC type accepted

No physical connection? So how does that work?
Looks like it picks up the signal in the car and boosts it. I have no idea how it keeps from confusing the towers.
How much?
How much?
I only hit one of the google results for it, but $379? Ouch. I'll deal with a few areas of poor reception for that kind of money.
It is a lot, but I will be working in my car most of the day. (I also get to deduct the cost from my business income.) Nothing is more annoying then wasting time looking for an internet connection.

I am also considering this as part of my love for both the rex and technology. Instead of a K swap, I would prefer a SC on the ZC and some fun stuff in the car.

We all "waste" money on our cars in different ways. That's the nature of hobbies. That's why I am trying to turn every hobby into a "business" so I can offset the costs.
and just think, you'll be helping out everyone around you when you're stuck in traffic!
Hmm, know of something like this for WiFi devices?
I need something for when I go wardriving...
Sure. There are tons of wireless boosters and antennas.
