I think he means on the left side of the top of the headlight, where the hood curves down, it just doesn't quite flow with the hood, you know? Not being critical, I like them, but I think I see what he means.

so youve probable already finshed your project by now, but if you havent, just started on mine tonight, and i was doing som more reserch, and came acrost ur post. the pic u put up was the one i first saw aswell. to do mine i took sheetmeatlel and formed it to fit the gap, and left a ridge to rest behind the hood. then i duct taped it from the back to help hold it wile i bondoed the front. when i was finished bondoing the front i took off the rear tape and bondoed the back. then i do rough sanding, to lighter sanding, then wet sanding with fine paper. then all you need do to is primer and paint, although all ive done is the bondo and rough sand and it seems to be holding up quite well, no cracks when i slam the hood or anything, but im not trying to push my luck. just be sure if you are bondoing, that you lay it on thick, its not that expensive and its not worth it crackin down the road. if you want me to send you a pick of were i am so far id be happy to just send me an e-mail at [email protected]. and i think the guy who welded sheetmetal strait to it's crx looks like crap. sorry.

I hope you realize that bondo is a body filler, not really proper for use as an adhesive. I think it makes more sense to weld the piece, or at least tack it to the hood itself then use filler to smooth it out. And quite the opposite to what you said, i think you want less filler in anysituation if you want to avoid cracking.

Personally, i think they both look out of place becasue its obvious that its covering part of the headlight. But Seti, your workmanship looks pretty damn good to me. I think people are critical about what is only light relecting off of some curves.

Actually, now that I think about it, you should make the "eyelids" "droopy" so that they cover more of the headlight... like a drunk or something. Haaa!

You used Bondo to attach metal to your car, and you think that thicker bondo wil crack less?

There is a reason you apply filler in layers, its actually stronger that way, but Bondo will never hold metal together on its own. I don't give it more than a month before the bondo cracks and your eyelids fall off.

If you didn't want to weld them on, or didn't have access to a welder, you should have used fiberglass cloth instead of metal. You can then fill it with fiberglass reinforced filler. Then fill over it with Bondo, then an Icing style filler.

Friend of mine dit this last week.
Tack welded the lids to the hood. Filled the gap in with lead. Like oldskool bodywork.

Grinded it down, filler, paint. Presto.
Lead like heavy metal?

Wow... and here I am trying to lighten my hood...
