Damn Fire Ants!

Hahahahaha! That sucks man, Ive seen those on the Discovery Channel. Mean little suckers. :lol:

I usually keep a can of carb cleaner and a lighter for such occasions, or at least some used motor oil.

I heard that during the hurrican floods, entire mounds would form softball sized balls of writhing ants and float until they reached dry land. Scary little suckers.

Yup, I actually saw a bunch like that here, I kept trying to swish them away from my cars with a broom.

jeez Charles, how long have you lived in texas for?! I thought youd be used to them.

Whenever I wash my car I always seem to find a new pile because the water seems to piss them off and they always find a way up my pants. I try to kill them all after I feel the first bit, and before they get to the family jewels :shock:

I guess you could say I have 'gotten used to them'. They still suck, no doubt, but i think ive accepted the lil buggers are there in texas to stay.

Yet im in china, i gotta worry about the bird poo flu!

Hate the little buggers. I got nailed by 'em Saturday. I laid on the ground to check under my car for a coolant leak, and laid my head right in a fire ant mound! Got a dozen or so stings (they're stings, not bites - fire ants grip with their mandibles, then use a stinger in their thorax to inject venom), all on my head and neck. I had fire ants IN MY HAIR!!! I've got fire ant stings on my freaking scalp.

And I'm usually so cautious about where I sit, stand, or lie...
