isn't EG the 92-95 civic? and if so, aren't those a hydro clutch?

The gearing I believe is the same

EG is 92-95. Yes, all usdm EG manual trannys are hydraulic. And according to numbers I quickly cross referenced on majestic Honda, the trannys are the same for the si hatch and the ex coupe.

Despite the fact that they both have the same bolt pattern on the bell housing, there are probably more differences than similarities. The big one is the actuation....hydro vs cable. The other is the gearsets.

Thanks guys, I got to verify it today, looked at an EG EX coupe.
EG specifically refers to a hatch. I don't know if has to be a Si or not because the CX and VX were also hatches, not coupes like this list mentions:

92-95 HB EG
92-95 Coupe CX/VX/DX EH2, Si EH3, EX EJ2
92-95 Sedan - DX/LX EG8, EH9
94-95 del Sol EG1, EG2, EH6

In your case, I think the correct Honda ricer street vernacular would be "EJ".

But what do I know?
