Slap your friend.
Homemadeturbo.com, kings of the cheap and ghetto mods, reviewed them here.
I concour with the above...slap your friend for even mentioning it.

Ever wonder why noone runs one? Cause they are overpriced garbage as Jeff said.
Electric SC= :RIP:

Yeah, Ive seen that... but I didnt saw any of the real review... of the real product. Did anyone really tried it ?
I have never seen anyone try one, probably due to the fact that they are garbage. there was a kid in high school, who hooked up a leaf blower to his s-10. It was good for a laugh, but thats about it.
okay most dont work AT ALL but if you are willing to spend the money to do it right look up thomas knight electric superchargers.. his products do work and do what they say they do.. unfortunately the cost from what i have seen anyways is about the same a buying a legitimate turbo or supercharger kit

Did some research on Thomas knight system, and basicly, they just put another battery. I think the problem with the first system, is the restriction it cause at high RPM. I think a good way to avoid that, would be using 2 filter. You put one as a cold air intake, and you put the ESC down there. So it shoot more cold air. And you put one as a RAI, that way, you get less restriction at high rpm.

Not to forget that it will also have a http://www.pickupspecialties.com/Tornado/Tornado.htm effect.
drows that sounds pretty good what do you guys think?
having another filter after the ESC would cancel out any boost it would be able to produce, and they simply can't push enough air at higher RPMs to provide any.

Bottom line: they're a waste of money.
just put the money into a tune up. . .. .or something like that. you will gain much more power with a new set of plugs than this ebay scam. .. these only work if used in conjunction with the aire intake temp mod power chip and the turbo whistler exhaust add on. . .. , <<<<<< SARCASM

just save your money man. . . . you will be glad you did.

Without going into a math sermon... The amount of electrical current it would take to push a fan fast enough to make this work would require an extra alternator or three.

The leaf blower would work if you got a model with a high enough CFM rating. These guys got about 10hp with one :) :

drunkenmonkey, i like the way you think. The whole point of a turbo or super charger is to make the motor more efficient at making power. But having to convert the motor's mechanical energy into extra electrical energy to then be converted abck to mechanical energy again to supposedly boost your power, just doesn't make sense. too much loss in the energy conversion. bogus.

this is also why electric vehicles should NOT be the wave of the future. but thats another rant.

But the way thomas knight is doing it, is using another battery. And that probably the way to go if you want to do that...
This has been studied and beat to death at RPI. Formula SAE found it to be inefficient. The professor who's doing the research is considered by most of us to be a bit of a joke... he can barely find a student to work on the project for him.
But wouldn't the weight of another battery just take away from any small hp gain...

Yep, that what I tought too.
i loved the leaf blower video...it's hybrid POW-AH! small engine helps the larger engine... :p
