When i turn the key not all the way the engine light, oil light, and the parking brake light comes on,Listen for a few beeps and than everything goes off but the engine light flashs and makes a sounds(tickin sound) Than when i try to start my car it won't start. So i take the key out and try all over again. And sometimes it does it again or sometimes it won't. What could the problem being with my REX(88)

What is your setup (OBD0 or 1), and what exactly is the engine light flashing? If you have OBD0 it should stay solid, and you can check the code on the ECU itself. With OBD1, it should also stay solid until you jump the SCS connector under the dash. If you are OBD1 and it's flashing, it's already jumped and your ECU isn't changing timing as it should.

My setup is OBD0 with a D16Z6 motor in it. As for throwing a code when the engine light stays on i have never checked that. When this problem come cross again i will see if my ecu is showing a code.

Is it a regular clicking/flashing, or erratic?
Well heres what happened to me today. Went to Macdonalds and than came out, tried to start my car and the engine light went on but never went off. So right away i checked my ECU to see if it was throwing any code. No codes which is good ,but my car wouldn't start so i took the key out and tried again. Same problem engine light was on. So i waited for a bit and tried again same problem. Last try before i gave up the light when on than clicked off (the clickin sound comes from under the dask near the fuse pannel is sounds like) So i finally started my car and drove home from work. What do you guys think this might be,because its really pissing me off when my car won't start sometimes.

Also clean your battery terminals really well... get one of those wire brush caps made for cleaning terminals at autozone, or whatever parts store is near you... cire them off really well, and clean the wire-side terminals to. Also, make sure they are nice and snug on the battery terminals.

Hard to tell exactly what the "clicking sound" could be, but it might be a main relay issue (the relay is near the fusebox). If you have a buddy with a CRX, try swapping it out to see if it solves the problem. These can be resoldered, but a new one from Honda is only around $50. Is it worse when the car is hot and/or when the car has been parked for only a few minutes? Does the car generally start up without problems first thing in the morning, but act up after being parked for 5 minutes at a gas station on a hot day? If so, those signs point to the main relay.

Yeah, just pull out the main relay and resolder it. I would suggest that to everyone with a "new" CRX or EF. The one in my new car isn't bad (yet), as it has low miles, but within the first week I had it I removed it and beefed up the solder points so I don't have to deal with that down the line. The main relay is such a common problem, 99% of us have had to or will have to deal with it, so you might as well do some preventative maintenance even if it's not definitely that.
Resoldering it is a 10 minute job, from taking it out of the car to putting it in, and most of that is waiting for the iron to heat up.
