hey guys,

I'm driving down the road and i hammer on the gas and it starts smelling from the engine bay like gasoline exaust. I'm thinking its because i don't have a timing belt cover. but could it be something else. maybe the exaust manifold has a crack somewhere. I'll try to make a video tomorrow of my engine bay, if its nice. And i'll post it on you tube.

Or get a sound sample to see if anyone figures out what it could be.

check around the manifold, catalyst, ect.

Your timing cover won't contribute to this. All that will do is increase the risk of large pieces of road debris getting caught in there and taking out the belt.

The timing isnt the problem check your header and anywhere else you exhaust can be bolted on check the throttle body also.
