Ok so the moron I bought my 91 si from decided he was goin to primer the whole car, and not tape anything off including moldings, the triangular pieces in the back that say "honda" and "si' and pretty much anything else that was in his way. When I get it painted, I want to keep the side moldings(the one that runs around the middle of teh car and the lower one on the door) as well as the ones on the bumper looking stock. My question is there a way to paint them black and make them look oem again or should I replace them all? Also, are the black strips on the bumper even replacable? Thanks in advance.

You can buy the moldings on the side and the rear triangles, but the bumpers are one big piece.

If you're going to paint them, I'd recommend taping them off and using a simple gloss black, and then paint the rest of the bumpers whatever color you want. This way you can clear the whole bumpers. The problem then is that new unpainted side moldings won't match, so it's probably cheapest and easiest to just repaint all of them and just buy new triangles. Personally I like having the upper moldings painted to match, but there are some stock nazis around that insist it ruins the lines of the car. Whatever. :p

Is it just the side moldings that are painted, or are the stock sideskirts and door caps primered too?
