Well folks, I hate to do it, but it must be done.
As y'all from the Resource know, my CRX was "nearly killed" in an accident on December 1st, 2005. I was hit by an old man while going through an intersection (he didnt see me and turned left into my path). Ive been limping the CRX around for the past 2 months, trying to decide what to do. Ive finally made my decision.
My 90 HF is too far gone for me to "save" her. I dont have the money, time or energy to do it. I wish I did, though. Anyway, my CRX is going under the knife for the last time very soon (my knife anyway). Im going to take the D16Z6 and Si tranny out of her, and tranplant it into my 91 DX auto hatch, which was recently diagnosed as terminal...thanks to a bad transmission. It breaks my heart, but I have to have at least one good dependable car for transportation. Right now, this is my only option.
The good news is, Ive found someone who is going to take the cadaver and give it new life, via B18. I wish I could do it myself...saving the crx that is, but in my eye's she's too far gone to make her back into a daily driver. Hopefully she'll be happy living her new life as a gutted out racer.
So, by sacrificing the CRX, the Civic is given another chance to live...and so is the X (in the long run). Hopefully one day soon i'll be able to get another X, and make it into what I want. I just feel like Im having to give up my dog for adoption, or something.
I'll keep everyone posted on how it turns out.
