can any of you recomend an auto machine shop that will do a good cylinder head overhaul on a 91 si head? i'm talking about a check for cracks, 3 angle valve job and valve guide replacement if necessary. most of the shop around my area dont turn out the quality job that i want. note that i dont want cheap, i'm willing to pay for good work. i'm even willing to mail my head out to have the work done. i don't care where the shop is as long as the work is good.

if you want a GREAT port job done, with a fair turnaround time (about a month from when you send it out til you get it back. +/- depending on location) and have the cash, portflow is the way to go. i sent them my head got the entire standard honda headwork (at the time was 900, is now 1000). head looked immaculate, ill post some pics if the job when i get the pics off my other laptop. portflow was an integral part of my motor making such good numbers. (215whp OEM parts gsr shortblock). and they have amazing customer service. i liked them well enough to ship my head from MD to CA to get done up by them.
now, if you want the best job, have deeper pockets and have patience, Brad @ RLZ can take care of you. but the wait time is no joke. ive seen people that have waited 6months+. brad is a victim of his own success. hes just 1 guy and everyone wants his work.
theres a couple guys on h-t that do porting that are competent porters that can do a good job for a little less. mike belben, and CombustionContraption to name a few.
