OK so I ordered this after market rear bumper beam for my car because my old was bent out of shape. When I get the thing I realize that I only got half of what I needed.

Let me try to explain. I thought I was ordering this:

Instead I only got this!

WTF? How I supposed to only use half of the beam? SO I phoned back the place and told him my problem and he said he would look into it. He phoned me back and said they don't make a after market top for the beam...
So now I have to figure out how I am going to make this thing work... It has screw holes in the top so I can only assume that it was made for some sort of after market attachment! God this is annoying! Now I will have to weld something on to there and just have to make do.

They were probably trying to save money by making it cross-compatable with the various Civic models. If it doesn't fit the application, don't use it... Get your money back.
If you weren't way the hell up in Canada, i would sell you my spare bumper. :/

How much would you sell it for? If it's cheap then it would be worth the shipping cost...

This is what happens when you order aftermarket garbage. Should have spent the money for OEM.

I would have noticed it but I bought the thing (they only had part number not pictures) then I had to get my dad to pick it up. Since my dad knows nothing about anything he picked it up and walked away! So I never had a chance to object! I am about to call them and see if I can return it though.

Return it if you can. Sometimes special order parts can't be returned though. Where did you buy it?

K i just returned it. There was like a 20$ restocking fee but thats what I get for ing stupid!

did you ever think about bolting some angle iron to the main support? then just attaching the top to the new beam?

Yes it did cross my mind but I called a guy I know who works in a body shop and he said he would fix my original beam for free. SO I figure I will just do that and in a year when I have some money I will just buy an oem one from Honda!

ususally on them there is not much left to fix. . . . .i know all of mine that i had looked at were pretty bad off.. . .angle iron would work. . . but it is curved if you look at i. . . . its not totally straight. . . it would take some careful mesurements and some slicing bending and weldong and it would be a pain to get it just right. . .

look for a good used one if they still exits or buy oem
