Hey bro,
The 205 refers to the width of the tire (the contact patch if you will), it has nothing to do with height (sidewall).
For example, 205/50/15 means 205 mm wide, 50mm height, and 15 inches in diameter. Obviously, the taller the tire, the more comfortable ride at the expense of sidewall flex (handling).

the 2nd number of 50 is not how many mm tall the sidewall is...it is an aspect ratio of height to width...so in sense a 205/50 will be higher than a 195/50...but yes, 205 is how many mm it is across... :wink:
Thanks for that info.. I do know that though. There is a slight difference in side wall hieght. Very small but there is a difference. Heres a chart I compared the 2 tire sizeswith.
