hi everyone. i don't know how i missed a crx specific forum for so long, but i didn't realize that one existed with this much traffic. from the looks of things, i doubt i'll be able to add much to the technical knowledge on the site, so i figured i'd just pop in with a few pictures of my project.

at the beginning of the year, my crx was fully functional, with a 175whp all motor b16 and a little shot of the giggly. then my nebraska tags expired, and i was a bit slow getting the paperwork in for my oh tags (i live in DC, so dealing with all these states is exhausting). long story short, it sat for about 2 months with invalid tags. i got sick of just looking at it, so i went out there one day to re-re-locate my battery back to the engine bay, and proceeded to strip the entire front end. 2 days later, my tags showed up. so it's been about 6 months since i've driven it, but i've been planning this upgrade for over a year now, so it's not a complete waste of time.

oh, and my daughter was born back in september, so i'm running a bit behind on this. but i'm signed up and paid for the 07 ITR expo, so i've got to at least get finished by then.

here's the last picture i took of the car before the teardown began. i was stripping out the VAFC and switching over to using BRE for tuning.

here's the GSR block once i finally got it back from the machine shop:

the shell with the bay stripped and rattle canned black:

and finally the (almost) completed motor:

still waiting on a few parts from acura, then i'll slap the tranny back on and drop it in, whenever we get a non-freezing weekend in december. i'll try and pop in here every once in a while with updates. after the engine goes in, i still need to finish some upgrades to the front suspension and braking system, then it's getting de-kitted in favor of a jdm front end. so i'm not sure how long it will be before it's out on the streets, but if not by spring, i'll be pretty pissed with myself.

Nice hood!
i actually sold it a few months ago and picked up an equivalent CF SiR hood for the jdm front. kinda made me sad, i loved that hump.

thanks for the compliments everyone.
btw, this is what i started with about 3 and a half years ago - stock, beat to **** Si slammed on some blown shocks.

Hey steronz, i recognize the name, weren't you a member of a certain Civic forum based out of baltimore, formerly known as "CL". I refuse to say the name since it's horrific downfall and changing of the gaurd earlier this summer.
indeed... i tried to use my excessive free time at work to stir up some activity there once upon a time, but eventually left in boredom.

I thought it might be the same person.
Eric sold the site and the new owners turned it into a "know it all JDM whore land", so most of us left by choice or were banned by the "new govt".
I was on CL, as Civichb, for 3yrs, went to a couple meets. the activity did slow down, but most of the core members had or were moving on from Civics. Selling the place seemed like the best option at the time, but the new owners tried to turn it around and tried to make too many new changes and were complete idiots.
They failed to do anything right and then they ended up selling it to someone else.

Be that as it may, this place is decent, lots of good members, active and is Crx specific.

here's some updates. got the clutch/transmission bolted on and dropped the engine in on sunday.

the pictures didn't come out as well as i would have liked... low, bright sun + leaving my camera on full auto apparently didn't do the trick. i threw away a lot of the ones that were washed out and darkened up the rest. here's the cream.

and a recap of the specs -
the head is a carryover from the old setup:
1st gen b16 head, skunk2 valvetrain, skunk2 stage2 cams, mild P&P

the block is a b18c1 bored to 82MM with carillo forged rods and wiseco high compression pistons - roughly 12.5:1. stock crank, clevite bearings, GE headgasket, arp head, main, and rod hardware

exedy 9 lb flywheel, competition clutch stage5 clutch, CTR n1 crank pulley

AEBS intake manifold, 64MM OEM TB, rage header

400cc precision injectors, B&M FPR, edelbrock fuel rail, custom DP stuff currently jetted for a 100 shot.

i like the battery location. frees up a lot of space, i did the same thing.

is that the rage header?

and be careful shooting the nitrous on that high compression setup. i would get it tuned asap. i wouldnt ride around on it untuned. thats the worst thing you can do to a fresh motor. but ill guess itll put 210-220 off the shot.

oh and what OEM TB is 64mm? the ITR is the biggest AFAIK at 62mm @ the plate. or are you measuring at the TB opening?

and dude please tell me you arent letting your car sit out in the open like that. someone could rip something off easily. and what happened to your side skirt? lol

over all, your car looks really clean.
