I have found the perfect product for the ugly black (now brown) trim. When I bought my car it had the normal dirt and wax build up. No matter what I did could not get it back to good clean black again. Used tons of detailer. Well my brother in law loves Volvo's, so I purchased an item for him through IPD for christmas. Started getting flyers in the mail. Finally caved in a bought some. LOVE IT! Worth every penny. Try it and thank me later. Finally a cure.

Link to my car. Orginal trim and no detailers on it.

Yup, that stuff rocks!

Make sure not to use it on the hard plastic trim though, it tends to leave nasty streaks. I used it on my sun-damaged 16v spoiler but the streaking got so bad that I just ended up sanding it all down and painting it with Dupli-Color Trim Paint (which, BTW, is great for painting that metal trim above our windows and hatch glass)

Will this look/protect decently on 1gen window trim? Not around the glass, but around the rolldown windows... Whatever was on it from the factory has cracked and fallen off... Steel underneath it... Ya know what I'm talking about?

Also, just cause I was in the Auto deptartment of KMart, I picked up a bottle of Mother's Back-to-Black and did my side skirts with it.... Amazing results. I'll try it on the bumper/airdam thingy when it's light. I've got a bunch of wax in the pores of the bumber, and its looking ugly. I've got a digital camera now :D so I'll take some before and after.

I just painted my trim today for under 10 bucks. 99 cent can of spray did a pretty good job. I would have just tried cleaning it but the idiot previous owners decided all that was needed to get rid of rust is spraypaint(without masking the trim). So I definitely had to paint over that.

On NinaandNeal's advice I bought some Forever Black on good ol' Ebay. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I will report back with the results. My trim is pretty faded so we'll see. One question - can you use this stuff on the black moulding (door ding strip) down the side of car?
