Is it an ez thing to do, or would it be Ezier to replace the full rear hatch or?

It will definitely be easier to replace the hatch than to try and collect the parts and retrofit it. It shouldn't be too hard to find someone willing to trade, some people are crazy about weight reduction.

So I'm thinking you will also have to add the steering column stalk for the switch and run new wires. Or, you could just rig up a radio shack switch. The wiring shouldn't be difficult since the rear wiper is one-speed and doesn't have an intermittent option.

Models equipped with the rear wiper also included a rear washer nozzle on the roof. It would be a pain to add that, and frankly I never found mine useful. I had it shaved off when my car was in the bodyshop last spring.

i shaved the whole wiper when i had my car painted. it's pretty worthless, IMO. but yeah, you would need the rear hatch, the wiper control stalk (or some radio shack switches), and all the wiring.

I took mine off too. I think the car looks cleaner with it off.

I love having the wiper, rain pools on the glass and it's been nice so far with snow, the defroster gets the snow/sleet all warm, wiper clears it off. I wouldn't be able to see out the back very well without it.

If I was in a climate that was warm all year, I'd consider eliminating it.

As far as adding one, I vote find a hatch with the parts in it. Could be some work finding all the parts then putting it all together.

You must be joking! I'm from Washington State, west of the Cascades near Mount St Helen! It's normal for it to start raining here in Nov, and stop in July with a few days of sunshine in between. This is the land of Seasonal Affective Disorder. (SAD) It's worth it though, because when it does stop, there is no place in the world as beautiful except maybe B.C.
