Ideas to promote this site?

You could always advertise on the resource :wink:

Ehhh... it may be a bad suggestion, but advertise on a Honda-Tech post. Maybe some of the very few intellegent people over there will decide to take a look.

Stickershop is right. The more content we get on this site, the better. I've left these forums open so you can see the content without having to login. That way the search engines will pick up the good stuff. The higher up in the search engines we get, the more people will find this site. Word of mouth is always good too. But I want to make one thing perfectly clear to everyone. I don't want to post any messages on the Resource about this. We're mature, and people will find out about it sooner or later without us "whoring" someone else's forum.

Anybody interested in some decals for their car? We should have some ready soon. We'll have some more details soon.

ill rock a decal when stickershop gets em ready. ive sent alot of people to the resource via my decal. alot of people ask about my edm spoiler and the decals right there.

instead of whoring out on another site, i would get email of members ( people youve talked to before ) and just ask them to take a look. ive added a link to my cardomain site, so maybe well get some new members via that.

anything that needs to be done let me know and ill help if i can.

Update on the decals. I will have 32 of them in my hand in a week or so. Anybody who wants one, let me know. Just pay shipping and I'll get it in the mail. I'm going to keep about 6 to give out locally and put on my car, but the rest are up for grabs.

I shipped out the decals today. I kinda expedited the process for you and allowed the CRX Community decal order to jump the line a bit, so to speak.

I agree that we shouldn't "plug-whore" on the other sites. Mainly because we want this site to attract a different crowd than other sites *cough* Honda-Tech *cough*. We don't want this site to become a playground for foul-mouthed little brats who have never had dirty fingernails in their entire life. :lol:

My friend, you said it. This site can grow legitimately without stealing anybody from somewhere else. If people are looking, they will find us.

On this topic, I was just informed that someone posted a "plug" on the Resource a few days ago. I want to re-emphasize that I don't want to see this. The post didn't last long, which is totally expected. Please don't do that. I don't know who it was, and I didn't see it myself. Thanks for trying, but please don't do it. Let's focus on marketing the site.

And on that note, I'm putting together some plans to get some t-shirts made. If anybody has some good ideas they would like to share, please do. I am planning to sell the shirts at cost.

i found this site via that "plug" on the resource. maybe now that the pms are back on the resource we can pm some people and just say "not saying this is better than that, but we are here if you want to check out".

I think that handling this privately rather than posting publicly is the best way to go about it. I don't think we should "spam" the users on the resource...but if you have any close friends or contacts over there (or anywhere else) that are into CRX's, you should definitely send them a message about this site.

Put me down for 2 stickers. and ill take a shirt when they are ready as well...

Agreed 100%, just for the record. I only told about 4 people about this site. It's not right to spam, but definitely let your friends know.

Ok, here's one that might be original:

Create a printable flyer and post it on the site. Nothing special. But print a few out, keep them in your car. When you see a rex in a parking lot, put the flyer on the window or something. Just an idea. I recently ran into two local rexers that had never heard of the forums that I frequent. Unfortunately, that was before I had started this site.

....or even some nice calling cards. They seem a little bit more classy than flyers. I got one from a local car club once and it made my day (the club was more for hooptie lowriders, but I was still flattered)

Opticon just sent me some prototype images for t-shirts or other merchandise. I just have to say he's extremely talented, and the shirts are going to be original and very cool. Can't release the prototypes, but stay tuned. Very soon we'll have some cool stuff for you.

Also, I really like the calling card / busines card idea. I'll see what I can come up with. Or if someone else wanted to volunteer to take that on, that would be great. I haven't had a lot of free time lately.

Since I'm already on the shirt graphics, I could go ahead and modify an image for the calling cards too. If someone wants to come up with a layout and some text, I can lay down something simple that would work for both B&W and color. It should be OK to use the CRX likeness and logo on this one too, since it's not being used for profit or anything.

So if anyone wants to collaborate with me on this, just shoot me a PM and we can figure something out.

Not sure if this has been brought up yet. but adding a signature line to your outgoing e mails is a great way to go about it i see that airgasm86 had joined up.... I know him he lives about 10 miles from me... i was sending some emails to him and his brother and though I have not talked to him yet i am sure this is where he heard about the site from.... This is my crx related email account. . so i usually only use it for replying about car related stuff...
It costs nothing and is easy to do. .

I put a link on my cardomain site and I think the decals will help too. Also anybody that sells on ebay could just put a link and the bottom of the item description for the heck of it.
