Silence except for the sound of an electric click as I turn the key. Already checked the battery. ADAC guy I think put it in first and tryed to push it. (I guess checking to see if it would manually turn over.) He didn't speak english but the words engine kaput are still ringing in my ears.

Talking on MSN last night led me to believe that the block is toast. " It sounds like driving through gravel" sounds oddly familiar to me. Most likely spun a main bearing or two.

oddly enough there was no visible damage. :?: as for the B18C5 I saw one for 12,500 and closed the search. I've got to figure out some way to tow it the 290 km back home before I do anything, not to mention I'm broke as hell.

I think the 12,500 (euro) was for the entire car.
Engines with everything on it go for 4000ish.
