My summer CRX Si has gone back into hibernation again this week.

Last Monday, we broke the record high (82F). Today, 10 days later, we break the record low (15F) with a wind chill barely above 0F and salt on the roads deep enough to rust your ankles :twisted: .

Oh the joys of owning a rex in Minnesota!

I hadn't gotten around to looking at my radiator issues yet so mine is also still hibernating. I got as far as popping the hood release one nice warm day a couple weeks ago but something else came up before I could even go open the hood.

Don't worry, summer does always come eventually.

And one of the joys of a crx in MN is that sometimes we get a cold snap without the snow or other precipitation and you get to enjoy a bunch of extra hp due to air density. -15F, dry concrete with good traction =

Of course that's more often in the fall than spring ...

Days like this I'm glad my CRX wasn't running in time for the short spout of good weather we had. Fingers crossed on finishing by warm up next week!

I took the top and doors off the Jeep and installed the summer half top. Unfortunately, the tops are a total PITA to take on and off over and over. So it'll stay in the garage for this round of junk weather.

i got alot of body stuff to work on, so it wasn't that big of a deal for me... but hell no i wasn't driving last night, i stayed at a friends house. everything was frozen overnight!

I was going to hold out, but the top and doors are back on the Jeep. the CRX just didn't cut it too well lastnight in all the slippery stuff.

Wow sounds like this bad weather is everywhere Yesterday the roads were just black ice so i went to the shop and slapped some sweet studded tires onto my rex and hit the streets. beat everycar i raced 1990 300zx twin turbo and some crappy cavalier. poor 300zx couldnt get any traction while i had plenty....the cavalier well... it was just slow

Glad I'm lazy and still hadn't taken off the winter tires on the Suby. Looks like it should warm up within a week. Then winter can serious just GTFO.

You may get a snowstorm of responses to this note - I'll be an early one since I started this thread in the first place. I think I represent the majority on this board when I say we disapprove of people who use the streets to race - and especially in dangerous conditions. We're all into enjoying our CRXs, protecting lives and living smart. There are lots of forums where street racing gets praise. This isn't one of them.

Hope you take this friendly advice which you may not have heard yet since you're a new member.
