The best info i can give you is to check out www.redpepperracing.com
They have lots of 1st gen info and you should be able to find someone over there with a wirring schematic for your '87.

Thanks for the information. I found a good site that has wiring diagrams. eautorepair. I had to pay a little to access the site information, but it had all the wiring diagrams for the whole car. I ended up having to change all the grounds to all the electronics on the dash, the rear lighting and the fuel tank. But everything works great now!
