just noticed that my dad has one in his 'lude and i was looking up some specs for it, then almost everything i read said they're rare.......just wondering if its possible his car might be worth something to the right person.

and on a side note, I was looking up the engine specs because I thought his prelude was a 2.0 and was trying to prove him wrong when he said 2.1.........he was right........damn old man always is.......

A 90-91 Prelude Si with the B21 is about the best 3rd gen lude you can get, so somebody would be interested in it, especially if the car is clean. The engine is no good for any other cars though.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....I own one, and those motors are trash.
Better used as a boat anchor.

To the OP:

Tell your Dad to go to...preludepower.com
I'm a member there as well. This site is for the CRX, you can get a ton of really good info for the lude there.

Srsly, check it out.

I know that a lot of guys swap them out for H22s, I used to know a guy with a 91 lude Si that did that, but then I moved and lost contact with him. For stock engines though, B21 was the best available.
The B21 had issues with piston rings...

I wanna see H swapped 3rd gens...I wanna know what it takes to make it happen.

I had no idea about the rings, and I'm not a Prelude expert, but the B21 was rated higher than any other engine available for the 3rd gens.

In my life I've driven two preludes, a stock white 91 Si that was on the used lot, and a 99 Type SH (unfortunately auto).

Anyway, here's some stuff I found about the 3g H22: The guy I knew with an H22 91 Si had Place Racing mounts, apparently at least one other company called AZ Race makes mounts for that swap. At the time (2002) I didn't think it was uncommon, just a natural upgrade (like a B16 in a CRX), but a bit of searching shows that it is somewhat rare.

I dunno about rare, but they are the bastard of the b-series since they share little to nothing in common with the rest of the B family.

Prob not worth that much unless someone just needs it for a stock replacement.

If I keep my lude, thats what will happen next. It needs a new motor or rebuild anyway, rings are shot, so are the velve seals etc...still runs great, but uses about a quart of oil every 200 miles...

So, a swappin' we will go..... :)
