well i started tearing down the rex for my a6 swap yesterday, got my gaskets on order, and i am getting my timing belt and valve spring compressor on monday. all we did was tear the head and wiring harness out for now, so it will be easier on me when i am by myself dropping the motor out of the bottom. But i am going to rent a cherry picker to put it in, i don't wanna mess with the install on the ground.

heres how it sits now

Nick, are you putting in a Z6 head or a straight up A6? If you need help let me know... stef and I are putting an A6 in his HF as soon as the parts arrive. The motor is sitting apart on a bench at the shop just chillin out. I'm pretty excited to get it in, the HF is damn slow! I thought I broke it when it was losing speed on the mass pike in 5th gear, pulled over to check everything and realized I was on a 1% grade... no joke.

just some advice, be wary about getting an non-honda timing belt......

just a risk that you may want to reconsider....

i know they work for many of you and probably have never had troubles with them... but, thats a VERY important component on the motor that is worth spending the little extra bit of money on to save the motor
