Does anybody know how to make the intake sound loud? I have heard some pretty loud intakes in my neighborhood that can set off car alarms. So they are pretty loud.

CAI + MPFI = Good enough.

My SOHC ZC had a CAI on the stock exhaust and it was loud as heck. I found you get the best intake noise when there is no exhaust noise to drown it out. DPFI sounds like a lawn mower so your best bet is to be MPFI with a CAI. My B16 screamed wne I had just the intake. I put the exhaust on and I could no longer hear the intake. Now I'm planning on removing the muffler and modifying it to be quiet (small exhaust piping).

But you shouldn't be hearing your intake alot either unless at WOT. Quiet cars are cars that cops don't look at.

How would take make the intake louder? Exhaust drown the sound of an intake. I personally couldn't care for a noisy exhaust and am very excited to go back to a stock sounding exhaust. The worst mod I did was the exhaust.

An intake and MPFI is all you need, seriously. D16A6 scream very good with just an intake.

I think your thinking more of the exhaust.

LOL! If thats the kind of intake noise you are looking for you could just plumb your heater vent into the intake. But somehow I don't think its a wise idea!

I can't see ANY intake making enough noise to set off car alarms.
Like Dodo said, maybe he is meaning he wants to make his exhaust louder(but i have no idea why you would want to do that.)

i cant see a loud intake setting off alarms. I ran my h22 with no downpipe for 4 days...now thats LOUD!! :lol: As far as I know I didnt set off any alarms...and if i did, I couldnt hear them.

I ran just an intake on my B16 and it screamed very good when it was at 8500rpm, might have even set an alarm off but I was always too happy to notice lol. Yes, he might never be able to make the intake set off alarms, but I'm being nice enough to help him out unlike most of you who just made fun. He asked about making his intake louder, and I told him the cheapest easiest way of doing it, MPFI + CAI = noisy intake on WOT.

You may be thinking about cars that aren't running a 4 cylinder (V8 anyone), or maybe they're turboed and are sucking a lot of air.
